The highway is one of the Council’s largest and most expensive assets to maintain and therefore to ensure the maximum lifetime of a road the continuance of the coring programme is required to ensure that the correct methods and materials are used to reinstate the highway. This programme will prevent repeat repairs which cause further disruption to the highway as per part 2 of the Traffic Management Act; which will potentially save further costs to the Council.
