Where possible, the Council will allocate accommodation for homeless households within Croydon. However, this is not always possible given the scale of demand and a shortage of affordable accommodation in the borough.
This policy relates to the allocation of temporary accommodation (Part 7 Housing Act 1996) and private sector offers.
The policy is primarily for use to guide officers making placements in temporary accommodation; the same principals will apply for the use of Private Sector Offers.
