AGENDA - PART A
1.	ELECTION OF THE MAYOR To elect the Mayor for the Council Year 2014/15 and note the appointment of the Deputy Mayor.
2.	APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE
3.	DISCLOSURE OF INTEREST Members will be asked to confirm that their Disclosure of Interest Forms are accurate and up-to-date. Any other disclosures that Members may wish to make during the meeting should be made orally. Members are reminded that unless their disclosable pecuniary interest is registered on the register of interests or is the subject of a pending notification to the Monitoring Officer, they are required to disclose relevant disclosable pecuniary interests at the meeting.
4.	MINUTES To approve the attached minutes of the Council meeting held on 24 March 2014 (Attachment: 1)minutes (77K/bytes)
5.	URGENT BUSINESS (IF ANY) To receive notice from the Chair of any business not on the Agenda which should, in the opinion of the Chair, by reason of special circumstances, be considered as a matter of urgency.
6.	APPOINTMENT OF THE LEADER OF THE COUNCIL In accordance with Article 4.01(e) and Article 7.03 of the Constitution, the Council is asked to appoint a Member of the Council as Leader of the Council for a period of four years.
7.	POLITICAL BALANCE OF THE COUNCIL AND ESTABLISHMENT OF COMMITTEES To consider the report of the Director of Democratic and Legal Services and Monitoring Officer. To be circulated prior to the meeting Under Section 15(1) of the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, it is the duty of the Council at its Annual Meeting to review the representation of different political groups on bodies appointed by the Council.
8.	APPOINTMENTS To consider the report of the Director of Democratic and Legal Services and Monitoring Officer. Details of nominations and appointments will be circulated prior to the meeting.
9.	CAMERA RESOLUTION To resolve that, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information falling within those paragraphs indicated in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, as amended.
