The Health and Wellbeing Board reviewed the Croydon Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy Refresh report, which provided to the refresh, summarising insights from the conducted workshop.
Jack Bedeman, Consultant in Public Health, introduced the item, noting that the consultation had recently gone live. Members of the Board were encouraged to promote the consultation and provide their own feedback. It was confirmed that the consultation would close on 26 February.
It was clarified that the Croydon Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy would not require approval by Full Council. Instead, the Strategy would be fully owned by the Health and Wellbeing Board and was expected to be published in June 2024.
The Board acknowledged the importance of conducting a broad equality impact assessment and ensuring that the Strategy included clear actions, as well as an understanding of how it would interact with other Council strategies.
In response to the Boards’ questions, it was confirmed that the Health and Wellbeing Strategy would incorporate some of the deliverables outlined in the Health and Care Plan.
The Board RESOLVED:
- To note progress with the Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy (JLHWS) Refresh, including insights from the joint Health and Wellbeing Board and Health and Care Board workshop and the draft JLHWS for consultation.
- To agree the next steps in collating and responding to the feedback from the consultation and finalising the strategy.
