A107/17 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY 24TH MAY 2017

RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 24 May 2017 be signed as a correct record.

7.2 17/00687/FUL 4 Rectory Park South Croydon CR2 9JL
Demolition of existing building and erection of a two storey building comprising 6 x 2 bedroom flats, with accommodation of roof level, provision of associated vehicular access and provision of associated parking spaces, cycle storage and refuse store
Ward: Sanderstead

 

Local resident, Ms Caroline Ure, spoke in objection on behalf of neighbouring properties
Mr Bhoseok Nam (MZA Planning) spoke as the agent, on behalf of the applicant

Cllr Tim Pollard, ward Member for Sanderstead, spoke in objecton, on behalf of local residents
 

After consideration of the officer's report, Councillor Chris Wright proposed and Councillor Jason Perry seconded REFUSAL, on the grounds of overdevelopment, being dominant and out of character with the area, and the Committee voted 4 in favour, 6 against, so this motion thereby fell.

 

The Committee then voted on a dsecond motion supporting the officer's recommendation, proposed by Councillor Paul Scott and seconded by Councillor Humayun Kabir, 6 in favour, 4 against, so planning permission was GRANTED for development at Rectory Park South Croydon CR2 9JL, with the landscaping condition to include strengthening of the boundary treatment.

 

7.3 17/00720/FUL 21 Melville Avenue South Croydon CR2 7HZ
Demolition of existing buildings and erection of detached 3 storey building plus lower ground floor level, containing 4 two bed room and 1 three bedroom flats:
alterations to vehicular access and provision of associated parking
Ward: Croham
 

Mr Peter Knight, owner of the adjacent property, spoke in objecton
Mr Simon Wallis (Savills) spoke as the agent, on behalf of the applicant
Mr Dan Marks (Dan Marks Studio) spoke as the architect, in support of the application

Cllr Maria Gatland, ward Member for Croham, spoke in objection, on behalf of local residents

 

Following consideration of the officer's report and addendum, Councillor Bernadette Khan proposed and Councillor Paul Scott seconded the officer's recommendation and the Committee voted 6 in favour, 4 against, so planning permission was GRANTED for development at 21 Melville Avenue South Croydon CR2 7HZ, the choice of materials to be submitted and approved to be included in Condition 7 and privacy screens to be included in condition 9.

 

A second motion for REFUSAL, on the grounds of the impact on adjoining occupiers and being out of character, proposed by Councillor Jason Perry and seconded by Councillor Chris Wright thereby fell.

Demolition of the existing building: erection of two storey building with accomodation in roofspace comprising 1 one bedroom and 8 two bedroom flats: formation of vehicular access and provision of associated parking, bins and bike storage

Mr Ian Austin spoke as the applicant
Cllr Badsha Quadir, ward Member for Purley, spoke in objecton, on behalf of local residents


Having considered the officer's report and addendum, Councillor Paul Scott proposed and Councillor Humayun Kabir seconded the officer's recommendation and the Committee voted 7 in favour, 3 against, so planning permission was GRANTED for development at 123 Foxley Lane Purley CR8 3HR.

 

A second motion for REFUSAL, on the grounds of the impact on the conservation area, loss of privacy and overlooking, proposed by Councillor Luke Clancy and seconded by Councillor Sue Winborn thereby fell.
